Honda Expansion

Alabama's automotive industry continues to expand and Gov. Don Siegelman will join executives at the Honda manufacturing plant in Lincoln for a groundbreaking ceremony.

Honda announced in July that it would spend $425 million to double its capacity at its plant in Lincoln and add 2,000 jobs. The second assembly line is slated to begin operation in 2004.

The Japanese automaker now makes 500 Odyssey minivans and V-6 engines a day at the Lincoln plant.
