U.S. Senator Richard Shelby made a county visit Monday morning at Farley Nuclear Plant in Columbia.
The meet and greet was a great opportunity for area residents to listen and voice their opinions on the activity of our government.
Shelby answered some questions that citizens had regarding the presidential election, water wars between the southeast and the importance of creating and conserving energy.
He says that he is pleased with the safety precautions taken Farley Nuclear Plant, and the plant’s ability to create clean electricity.
Senator Shelby has held over 1,400 county visits since being elected to serve the state of Alabama.
As part as his commitment, he holds a meeting in each county once a year.
