Water Rates Up

Some Taylor residents are furious over a water rate increase. The increase was proposed Tuesday night at a city council meeting.

Regions Bonding Company threatened to put the city in default because apparently a water project they financed for the city of Taylor is not financially sound.

For the past 18 months, Regions has been negotiating with Mayor Joel Napier. The mayor said that he hates the increase has to happen.

After discussions, the council raised water rates by $3 per month.
