Abbeville Schools Reopen

Abbeville schools that were damaged in a tornado last week will reopen Nov. 25, but high school students will meet at a temporary campus at the National Guard Armory.

School officials said elementary and middle school students will return to their respective campuses.

The Nov. 5 tornado killed one person and injured 25 others.

It also seriously damaged the gymnasium, cultural arts building and other buildings at Abbeville High School.

Officials don't yet know for sure whether all the buildings at the high school can be restored or whether they will have to be rebuilt.

Superintendent Bill Davis said they're looking into the possibility of relocating the campus and building a new school.
