Covington Escapees Update

Twenty-seven-year-old Oscar Ray Doster and 39-year-old Bobby Phillips have unfortunately become familiar names in several Covington County towns.

On Nov. 4, the two prisoners escaped through an air-conditioning vent at the Covington County Jail. The sheriff's department has spearheaded a statewide manhunt.

Last week, Paul Lemaster was allegedly shot by Doster and Phillips. The two are reportedly driving the victim's 1984 Ford, F-150 maroon pickup truck. Authorities believe the escapees have received help.

Covington County authorities believe Doster and Phillips are still in the Wiregrass.

The stolen maroon Ford F-150 pick up has an Alabama license plate number 23-A197-Y. If you see this vehicle, call authorities immediately.

Three people have been arrested and accused of helping the two escapees. They are charged with hindering prosecution for allegedly helping Doster and Phillips elude police.
