Dothan Technology Center's Principal Arrested on DUI

On March 17, 2012 at approximately 1733 hours Dothan Police responded to the 2100 block of East Main street reference a four vehicle collision.

According to witnesses the vehicle driven by Gregory Wayne Allen was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed and struck two motorcycles also traveling westbound.

One motorcycle was pushed to the left into the center lane and the second motorcycle was pushed right into a vehicle waiting to exit private property.

Mr. Allen’s vehicle traveled about 50 yards past the original collision coming to a rest in the roadway. Upon initial investigation at the scene an odor of alcoholic beverage was detected on Mr. Allen. Allen admitted drinking and was unable to perform field sobriety tests.

Allen was arrested for driving under the influence and transported to city jail without incident.

There were two juveniles in Allen’s vehicle and a family member was called to take possession of the juveniles.

One of the persons on the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigation is still ongoing.
