Two cases of rabies have been confirmed in Walton County Florida.
Health department officials say a raccoon and a skunk both tested positive for the deadly disease.
One of the animals was found off Bob Sikes Road.
The other was located North of Mossy Head.
Health officials urge residents to avoid stray pets and never handle wild animals. Most importantly, all dogs and cats should be vaccinated for rabies.
An estimated 40,000 people across the country are exposed to rabies each year.
