Two companions of a Wisconsin man accused of fatally shooting a police officer remain in jail.
Twenty-year-old Dtoria Crawford and 31-year-old John Braz Junior are being held as material witnesses under a rare court order although no charges have been filed against the pair.
A circuit judge yesterday ordered that both witnesses be held at the Bay County Jail for up to 90 days unless they post 100-thousand dollar bonds so prosecutors can be certain to have their testimony.
The judge said he's exercising judicial discretion although state law says material witnesses only can be held for three days.
The two witnesses accompanied 22-year-old Robert Bailey from Milwaukee to the Florida Panhandle.
Bailey is charged with murdering a Panama City Beach police officer on Easter Sunday.
