Escapees Still at Large

Two escapees from the Covington County Jail, 27-year-old Oscar Ray Doster and 39-year-old Bobby Phillips, continue to elude police. They are considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities think they may be responsible for Sunday's robbery at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Red Level.

The two were among four inmates who fled the jail on Nov. 4. Clark said the inmates escaped through the facility's ventilation system. Two of the prisoners were recaptured the next day.

Authorities also think Doster and Phillips may have been involved in last Wednesday night's fatal shooting of Paul LeMaster in the Gantt community.

Investigators said the victim's 1984 Ford, F150, maroon pickup truck was stolen. Deputies said the vehicle has a camper shell with Alabama license plate 23A197Y.
