Rescue workers are searching for a Cottondale man who fell into the Black Warrior River while fishing with his 12-year-old son and is believed to have drowned.
Authorities say 33-year-old Shannon Tidmore fell overboard while piloting his boat near the Rock Quarry Boat Landing in Peterson yesterday afternoon.
He said the boat hit large waves and spun out.
Tidmore was reportedly trying to put on his life jacket when he fell.
An unidentified boater who was flagged down by the boy searched the river for Tidmore but could not find him.
