Bank Robbery

Authorities are searching for a man who robbed an Amsouth Bank in Gadsden Tuesday.

They’ve recovered some money and a plastic bag, both covered in red dye, but the robber still remains at large. FBI Special Agent Danny Garnett says an armed man wearing a camouflage mask and jacket robbed the bank on rainbow drive around 2 p.m.

Garnett says the man had a handgun and demanded money.

He had apparently waited for customers to leave before entering the bank.

The robber was the only person other than employees in the bank at the time of the robbery.

Authorities say the dye packs exploded soon after the man left the bank.

They say it is likely that he still has dye on his clothing or his vehicle.

The suspect is described as white, about 5’11”, slim, with short light-brown hair.

He was wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored shirt underneath his jacket.
