OPELIKA, Ala. (AP) -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation has
joined a probe by Opelika police into skeletal remains found at an
Alabama trailer park.

The Opelika-Auburn News reports (http://bit.ly/xWPNKq ) that
authorities are trying to determine an identity for the remains,
which were discovered Jan. 28. The remains were scattered around
the trailer park and included a skull.

The Lee County Coroner has ruled the death a homicide.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation of the remains
indicates that the person was likely a child younger than 10.

Police say the race, gender and exact cause of death of the
child are unknown.
