Search for Missing Inmates Continues

Two of four inmates who escaped from the Covington County jail earlier this week are still at large, and are considered armed and dangerous after a man was found dead in Andalusia.

Covington County investigators said items found in a burglarized mobile home have connected two of the four inmates to a robbery. Officers investigating a travel trailer at the home that had also been burglarized found a body in the camper.

The four inmates who escaped from the jail early Monday morning are identified as 39-year-old Bobby O'lee Phillips of Opp, 27-year-old Oscar Roy Doster of Andalusia, 21-year-old Michael Barbaree of Andalusia, and 42-year-old Charles Meeks of Andalusia.

Barbaree was arrested late Monday evening after being found in a stolen vehicle in Andalusia. Meeks turned himself in Wednesday night. However, Phillips and Doster are still at large.

Covington County officials have not said if the four are considered suspects in the death of the person found in the camper.
