A spokesman for Girls Gone Wild says a planned video shoot in Tuscaloosa has been canceled. Community pressure prompted a Tuscaloosa bar owner to cancel next week's taping that was to have featured University of Alabama coeds.
Producers of Girls Gone Wild, a video series that show young women exposing themselves, had planned to film at Club Venue. Joel Holliday, the owner, tells a Tuscaloosa newspaper that the city and his employees lost a lot of money.
City leaders in Tuscaloosa and a UA official feared the video would tarnish the school's recent efforts to improve its party image and hurt its recruitment of young scholars.
A spokesman for Mantra Films confirmed the film crew will not come to Tuscaloosa and will now travel to New Orleans.
