The agency charged with revitalizing downtown Dothan has taken a financial hit and criminal charges could be filed.
Sources inside city hall tell News 4 that thousands of dollars may have been mis-appropriated from the Downtown Group and an effort is underway to determine how much money is missing.
Sources say the figure could exceed $20,000.
The City of Dothan gives money to the agency each year and city officials said the city is conducting an audit with the help of the agency's board of directors.
No charges have been filed in connection with the case.
