A 14-year-old Oneonta girl, allegedly kidnapped by a Dale County man she became acquainted with through Internet chat rooms, was found safe in Midland City early Tuesday after being the subject of an Ambert Alert.
The alert, which triggers a statewide notification system, said the girl was believed to have been abducted by 32-year-old Michael John Humphrey and was in danger.
The FBI said law officers were able to track the teen to the Midland City home of Humphrey.
Humphrey is being held in the Dale County Jail on state charges including three counts of second-degree rape, kidnapping and solicitation of a minor. The girl was reunited with her family in Oneonta.
The teenager was reported missing from her home in Oneonta on Friday.
