She gave up Brian Nichols, and will get some money for it.
Ashley Smith will collect a $10,000 reward from the state of Georgia for her role in ending the standoff with accused killer Brian Nichols.
Governor Sonny Perdue says Smith "absolutely deserves" the state's $10,000 reward.
The total reward fund stands at $60,000. No decisions have been made as to whether Smith will get the other money.
The 26-year-old single mom says Nichols held her hostages for several hours at her apartment before she talked him into giving up.
