The Amber Alert has become a useful tool in finding missing children across the nation, now a local city is implementing its own plan.

Dale County recently used the Amber Alert to locate two missing children who were abducted by their father.

In order to get the information out quickly, Ozark Police are hosting a child identification project.

Parents can get their kid's picture taken, fingerprinted and DNA samples to have in case of abduction.

The project is strictly voluntary and it's up to parents if they want the picture kept on police file.

The Child Identification Project is February 12th from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at Ozark City Hall.
