We’re experiencing several online banking problems right here in the Wiregrass.
Bogus e-mails allegedly from Regions Bank have started turning up.
Recipients are told they must update their account information because of possible access by an unauthorized third party.
But, Regions Bank officials say they never contact customers via e-mail to verify or request security information.
Anyone who has received a phony Regions Bank e-mail should forward to the message to the bank as soon as possible. And customers who have responded to the scam should call Regions Bank immediately.
The FBI is investigating the case.
