A police dog is being credited with saving the life of a toddler in northwest Florida.
Washington County Sheriff's Department K-9 team Deputy Jeremy Pelfrey and his dog Axe took the call.
Axe is trained in tracking and drug detection.
The dog was able to find an 18-month-old boy who wandered a few hundred yards away from his family's home in Vernon.
Washington County Sheriff Bobby Haddock says saving the life of a child shows that Axe is a tremendous asset to his department.
