A grisly discovery in a wooded area near Sylacauga leaves one community and authorities with lots of questions. Land surveyors found skeletal remains this week on a hillside near Wynette Road.
Talladega County sheriff's investigators recovered a human skull, bones and what appeared to remnants of women's clothing. The bones and clothing were sent to a state forensics lab in Birmingham for tests and identification. Authorities are treating the case as a homicide.
Investigators hope missing person's reports will assist them to identify the victim.
