Closing arguments will be heard today in the rape case of a six year old girl.
Yesterday (Wednesday), the victim told a Houston County jury she was raped in her own bedroom last Summer.
Thomas Derring was just 16 when he was arrested in June of 2004.
He's standing trial as an adult on a charge of first degree rape.
Derring recently moved to Ashford from Mississippi.
He was staying with the victim's parents when the crime was reportedly committed.
Defense Attorney William White told the jury during opening arguments that his client is guilty, but of a lesser offense.
The trial continues today in Houston County.
