Congressman Bob Riley said he's ready to debate Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman, provided each debate focuses on a single issue.
Riley wants that issue to be restoring honesty in state government. He outlines his requirements in a letter to Siegelman.
However, Siegelman said that a governor needs to be able to handle more than one issue at a time.
Siegelman challenged Riley to a series of debates after they both won their parties' nominations last week.
A Huntsville TV station has tried to arrange a debate next month. Siegelman said he will appear, but Riley has not committed.
