AAA Alabama's statewide survey shows gas prices are starting to fluctuate again.
The numbers show the Wednesday average for regular unleaded at a $1.72; mid-grade fuels are about a $1.84; and premium averaged nearly a $1.90. That's up about two-tenths of a penny from Tuesday, but down about two-cents from a week ago. Overall, gasoline prices declined about 15 cents from a month ago.
AAA's survey of gasoline stations in Alabama's metro areas show Birmingham still has the cheapest average at almost a $1.69. Huntsville has the most expensive with regular unleaded averaging a $1.76.
However, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery and Mobile reported an increase in their markets' averages.
