Alabama State Troopers and other law enforcement agencies across the state will be targeting drunken drivers through the holiday weekend.
The Zero Tolerance campaign will include traffic patrols and sobriety checkpoints. It's part of the national You Drink and Drive, You Lose program. The Department of Public Safety estimates that 13 people may die in traffic accidents. The 78 hour New Year's holiday travel period began at 6pm Thursday and ends at midnight Sunday.
