A Dothan family is shattered Wednesday morning after what police are calling a murder-attempted-suicide.
Pamela Jones Marchman and her husband Billy Ray Marchman moved into a new house in Dothan just a month ago.
Mrs. Marchman is now dead, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds.
Her husband is in Southeast Alabama Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the face.
Marchman had surgery last night, but is expected to fully recover.
Police say a nine millimeter gun was used in both the homicide and the attempted suicide. When police responded to the scene they also found a loaded .25-caliber pistol in Marchman's pocket.
Neither he nor anyone is charged with a crime at this time.
The crime took place inside their home.
As for Mr. Marchman, police are not even naming him as suspect at this time, but this case could begin to develop once he is released from hospital care.
