A Dothan man has been arrested on rape charges.

31-year-old Shawn Patrick Barnes faces rape and sexual abuse charges after a three week investigation.

He’s accused of molesting and sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl.

The crime happened last year, but the victim only recently told a friend who notified adults.

Bond has been set at 100-thousand dollars.
