An 18-year-old aviation student made his first court appearance on Thursday in connection with murder charges in Geneva County.
Authorities arrested Matthew Leske for fatally shooting 21-year-old Brent Cook during an argument early Monday morning.
The incident took place in the front yard of his girlfriends' home in the Hacoda Community.
Cook was reportedly the ex-boyfriend of the woman.
Thursday, Judge Charles Fleming set Leske's bond at $150,000 dollars.
If released, the defendant is not to have any contact with the victim's family.
As of late Thursday afternoon, Leske remained behind bars in the Geneva County Jail.
