Birmingham Jail

Attorneys for 240 "HIV positive" prisoners are accusing the institution of violating an agreement to improve their medical care.

Limestone Correctional Facility in Birmingham made a housing and medical agreement for the inmates during a lawsuit in April 2004.

But, according to doctor's memos and inmates, there are dozens of medical shortcomings, including rats in the exam room and chaotic record-keeping.

Corrections spokesman, Brian Corbett, insists that the jail's compliance with their settlement is a priority, and they are making a good effort to do so.
