Food Demand Continues

Hunger in the Wiregrass is a problem 365 days a year.

With Thanksgiving and Christmas now over, faith-based organizations remind the public that the demand for food grows daily.

Several times each month, Johns Chapel AME Church in Enterprise sponsors a soup kitchen.

Those in need have the opportunity to get grocery items.

However, congregation members say it's getting more difficult to meet the need.

In many cases, the cabinets are bare and families often have to do without basic necessities.

Johns Chapel AME Church, along with a number of other charitable organizations, receive their groceries from the Wiregrass-Area Food Bank in Dothan.
