Hammond Trial

Fifty-year-old Jerry Hammond is charged with capital murder for allegedly killing his uncle. James McNeal was stabbed to death in August of 1998.

Prosecutors claim Hammond killed the 78-year-old man and stole his wallet to get money for drugs.

Both of Hammond's earlier convictions have been overturned on appeal. He was back in court Tuesday for a pre-trial hearing.

Jury selection in his third trial begins Nov. 18.
