Lampkin Bond Hearing

gavel

Vincent Lampkin has been behind bars since his arrest more than a year ago. He is charged with killing his former girlfriend, Gwendolyn Brock. She was gunned down in the parking lot of a Dothan nightclub in November of 1990.

Lampkin disappeared that same night and he wasn't seen again until he was arrested in New Orleans last year for allegedly assaulting his wife.

Police said the accused killer had been working as a barber under the name Leon Joseph.

Lampkin was ordered held without bond and his case was put on a fast track for trial.

His attorney was killed in a plane crash last December. Now, after more than a year behind bars, Lampkin wants Judge Denny Holloway to set bond.

His new attorney said he's not a flight risk. But prosecutors disagree.

Judge Holloway said he’d rule on Lampkin's request for bond later.

Lampkin's case is not scheduled to be heard until November of next year.
