Voter Registration

Gov. Siegelman is encouraging Alabama citizens to register to vote by proclaiming October as Voter Registration Month.

To register to vote in Alabama, you must be a U.S. citizen, live in Alabama and be at least 18 years old.

You can register at the county board of registrars, or through many state and local government offices, including driver's license and Department of Human Resources offices. A registration form is also available on the secretary of state's Web site. You can obtain a voter registration application by going to http:www.sos.state.al.us/election/vr/vr-b.htm.

The deadline to register to vote in the general election is Oct. 25.
