Former employees of a Newton, Alabama trucking company are claiming fraud against the business.
They say they're now out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in time and possessions.
AWC carriers are a 100-percent owner-operator trucking company, and they say they pride themselves with caring for their drivers.
But, according to those filing the suit, the company forces the employees to sign a contract and then doesn't hold up their end of the bargain.
The owner-operators are reportedly required to invest thousands of dollars in escrow, fuel tax and other expenses. Then never see the returns.
Now many other former employees have come forth with a case.
News 4 spoke with an AWC, Incorporated representative Monday. He insists there is nothing fraudulent going on with the company, and, beyond that, would give us no further comment.
