Federal disaster loans are available to small businesses in three Wiregrass area counties because of this year's drought.
When the secretary of agriculture declares a disaster to help farmers, the Small Business Administration issues a declaration to help small businesses affected by the same disaster.
Small businesses that suffered financial losses because of the drought are now eligible for low interest loans of up to 1.5 million dollars.
The loans are available at four percent interest with terms up to 30 years.
Businesses can apply by calling the SBA’s customer service center at 1-800-659-2955 or by downloading an application from the small business administration's website at www.sba.gov
