Houston County is Alabama's youngest county, marking its 100th birthday Saturday. County officials were at Landmark Park with an array of activities scheduled throughout the day.
The county was named in honor of Alabama Governor George Smith Houston.
Cities in the county represented each decade of the 100 years with booths and authentic costumes and county memorabilia from the period.
