One Wiregrass municipality fulfilled a new requirement issued by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The City of Geneva used federal grant dollars to purchase a mobile home park adjacent to the city airport.
Once the property was acquired, the trailers were moved out and the park was bulldozed.
For safety reasons, the FAA wants a land buffer between a runway and any homes or businesses.
The clean-up cost reportedly came under projected expenditures.
