Alleged jury tampering has brought an early end to the capital murder trial of a man accused of killing six people at a south Alabama farm.
Authorities say 35-year-old Teresa Rogers of Luverne is charged with jury tampering in the capital murder trial of Westley Devon Harris. Juror Willie Fred Johnson was also arrested and charged with perjury.
Officials aren't saying exactly what happened. And it's unclear what connection - if any - Rogers has to the case.
But District Attorney John Andrews says Rogers is accused of trying to influence at least one member of the jury. And a judge today declared a mistrial in the trial of Westley Devon Harris.
Harris is accused of killing six members of his girlfriend's family at their farm in Crenshaw County in 2002.
A new trial date hasn't been set.
