A Dothan woman is in jail Tuesday morning and charged with killing her common-law husband. Police say the situation turned violent when an argument got out of hand.
Investigators say on Saturday night an argument between 49-year-old Willie Cathy Russaw, and her common law husband Ezell Anglin began at a local convenience store.
They say it ended in the house the couple was living in on East Newton Street.
Dothan Police investigators have arrested Willie Cathy Russaw of Dothan on a charge of murder. This stems from an incident that occurred on January 8th in which Ezell Anglin was seriously injured when he was struck by a bat.
After being taken to the medical center with serious injuries, Anglin survived only a day, and never regained consciousness. Police upgraded Russaw's attempted murder charge to murder. She told police that sometimes their arguments would turn physically violent, and she just got tired of the verbal and physical abuse.
This is the third domestic violence case in Dothan within the past four months.
