Police say they're now hoping to find the body of a Coffee County man they've been hunting for over a week.
News 4 first told you about this story last week when 39-year-old Joey Finkley went missing.
In a weekend news conference at Kinston Town Hall, investigators say it's no longer considered a “search” for Finkley; it is now a “recovery” effort. They think Finkley is the victim of foul play.
Although there are no suspects at this time, several people have been interviewed by police and physical evidence has been collected in the case.
After several air and ground searches, it's believed he's not in the general area.
He was reportedly seen last Sunday around several chicken houses in Kinston.
If you have information on the disappearance of Joey Finkley, contact the Kinston Police Department at 334-565-3114 or the Coffee County Sheriff's Department at 334-894-5535.
