A federal grand jury in Atlanta, Georgia has handed down an 18-count indictment against Georgia’s former school superintendent, Linda Schrenko.
Authorities accused her and several others with stealing at least $615,000 in federal funds, earmarked to help educate Georgia’s deaf and blind kids.
One of the accusations is that the 54-year-old Schrenko possibly used $10,000 for face lifts and her 2002 campaign for governor.
Schrenko’s attorney denies the charges, but says she will answer to the charges on Monday at the federal court building in Atlanta.
