State officials lowered Alabama's terror alert status Wednesday from "high risk" to "significant risk."
The move follows a similar downgrade made by the Federal Office of Homeland Security.
Federal officials lowered the status from orange to yellow in the color-coded system after the recent arrests of numerous people alleged to have ties with terrorist organizations.
