Flu Vaccine Poll

The flu vaccine shortage has more Alabamians eager to get the shot. A Mobile Register-University of South Alabama poll found that 58-percent of those surveyed would likely or very likely get a flu shot if enough vaccine were available.

Of those surveyed, only 44-percent said they got the shot last year. Pollster Keith Nicholls says it might be a case of wanting what you can't have.

More than half of the participants said they are not very concerned or not concerned at all with the shortage.

According to state health department officials about 53,000 flu shots were given out statewide, as of last Friday.
