The remains of a missing man have been found at a facility for the mentally handicapped near Marianna.
According to dental records, the initial investigation indicates it's the body of 18-year-old Franklin Weekley.
Weekley was a resident at Sunland who went missing on Dec. 6, 2002.
A contract worker in a 50-year-old building on the premises found his skeletal remains.
The building was a boiler room and the remains were discovered in a plumber's pit.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department has declared the area a crime scene.
Weekley’s remains have been sent to the Panama City Medical Examiner's Office. A positive ID should be made within a week.
Officials say they conducted a nationwide, three week search at the time Weekley went missing because he was known to wander away from Sunland.
