A murder suspect who was also charged with raping a 14 year old girl was found guilty in Dothan.
33-year-old Tony Evans was convicted Tuesday on two counts of rape and one count of sexual abuse.
The crimes were committed while Evans was free on bond for the murder.
Three years ago, Evans was in prison for burglary when a routine DNA test prior to his release linked him to the stabbing death of Nacole Smith.
The Dothan woman was killed in 1998.
Evans faces up to life without parole for the sex crimes.
He’s being held without bond in the Houston County Jail.
Judge Jerry White has set sentencing for February 7th.
Evans is scheduled to stand trial for the murder that same month.
