A Pinellas Circuit Court judge says Terri Schiavo's feeding tube can't be removed until appeals are exhausted on a request for a new trial on the issue of whether she would want to live or die.
Pinellas Circuit Court Judge George Greer extended a stay that brought immediate criticism from George Felos, the attorney for the 40-year-olds husband Michael, who called the order "outrageous" and said he would seek to have it overturned.
A previous stay issued by Greer was scheduled to expire Dec. 6. Felos said the latest order could mean months and possibly a year of delays.
The Florida Supreme Court has issued a separate stay until Nov. 29 blocking the tube's removal. That was to allow Governor Jeb Bush to ask the U.S. Supreme Court to take up the issue of whether he overstepped his authority when he intervened in the case last year.
