An early morning routine traffic stop results in a large drug seizure in Northwest Florida.
A Marianna man and his girlfriend are in jail on several charges.
Ralph White and Joann Callais are believed to be transporting a large quantity of marijuana to sell.
The two were taken into custody along Mill Creek Lane in Marianna late Wednesday night. They allegedly had marijuana plants in the bed of their pick-up truck.
Once they were taken into custody, Jackson county investigators served a search warrant on the couple's home.
That’s where they reportedly found more than $20,000 worth of pot plants both in and outside the residence.
In addition, police found a small quantity of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff’s department Captain Robbie Wester says marijuana remains a problem in rural portions of the panhandle.
Both White and Callais are awaiting first appearance on several marijuana related charges at the Jackson County Jail.
The Jackson County sheriff's department along with Marianna Police is taking a no tolerance stance to all illegal drugs on the street.
