An innocent plea has been entered in an Indiana courtroom for the woman shown on videotape beating her four-year-old daughter.
Madelyne Gorman Toogood is charged with felony battery to a child.
She's due back in court on Oct. 7.
A surveillance videotape shows Toogood hitting four-year-old Martha in a department store parking lot in Mishawaka, Indiana earlier this month.
Also Monday, a judge gave child-protection officials two weeks to recommend who should care for the girl.
She's been in foster care since she was taken by authorities on Saturday.
