A 19-year-old Slocomb man continues to face more charges. Seth Isaac Davis was charged last week in the May murder of 29-year-old Hollis Salinas.
He was charged Monday in the November break-in of a church parsonage in Holmes County.
Now a similar case is emerging in Geneva County. And it turns out a piece of sports memorabilia led to the new charges.
Geneva County Sheriff Greg Ward says investigators connected Davis to two recent home break-ins in the county.
Larry Toole of the Faydette Community was one of the victims.
Authorities found several thousands dollars worth of firearms, rare coins, and jewelry in a suitcase near his home.
But Toole's Paul Bear Bryant hat was not with the other stolen items. When police searched Davis’s vehicle, they found the hat in the trunk.
Deputies are still searching for Toole's rare John Wayne Limited Winchester Rifle. If you have information on the gun, call the sheriff's department at 684-5660.
Both the Geneva and Holmes County Sheriff’s Departments, along with Dothan Police helped solve a home break-in near Malvern. Davis is also charged with that crime.
