Authorities are still trying to determine why a Coffee County man was killed over the weekend. It happened outside an Enterprise nightclub.
During the pre-dawn hours Saturday, the parking lot of the "Office Lounge" was a crime scene.
Authorities say 25-year-old Jason Charles Mitchell was stabbed by 24-year-old Jason Devon Slawson.
The two Elba residents had reportedly been arguing over a woman.
Several bystanders reported that the men were fighting when Slawson pulled a six-inch knife from his belt.
Mitchell was stabbed in the chest and died a short time later at an area hospital.
Police are awaiting the results of Mitchell’s autopsy. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the incident.
If police do not file charges in the case, as Captain Lolley said, it’ll be up to the next session of the Coffee County Grand Jury to determine if it's a criminal matter.
